Dear Darrell,
Thank you to you and all marina staff for your outstanding service whilst I had my boat there, it was sincerely appreciate.
Just a quick, note to say THANK YOU for having us at the marina last week. We enjoyed our stay greatly as did our friends on Supa Trooper and acquaintances on Echo Echo. I think you have new fans!
As always, it was lovely to see all your cheerful faces.
See you again when next we come into Port Stephens.
Beautiful marina which we enjoyed walking too. A couple of restaurants and a cafe. We enjoyed watching a pelican finishing for dinner.
This Marina is amazing! The staff are top notch and the services they provide are outstanding. The ground level restaurant has great staff and even better food. This place should get 6 stars.
This is a fantastic little marina. I live and travel on my boat full time, so I’ve been in a lot of marinas. The staff are all friendly, reservations were straightforward, and they’ve made a real effort to deliver value to the stay – courtesy car and bicycles, free pickup and drop off from your boat and a nice little welcome pack on arrival. Good job. Would stay here again for sure.
We’ve had many wonderful years holidaying at the “Best” Marina around, always felt welcome and thoroughly spoiled with complimentary Happy Hour, with morning coffee and newspaper, what a perfect way to unwind and enjoy the magic of Port Stephens. We will be up again soon before summer finishes to catch up with you and the crew at The Deck.
I was super impressed that my car had been covered in the car park. Thank you Darrell.
Fantastic Marina to visit and excellent facilities for boating. A great place to day visit, eat on the small cafe on the actual wharf among the boats, or one of the bigger restaurants attached to marina. Great little sand beach adjacent to marina. Top notch for berthing or storing your boat and Darrell, Marina manager (2023) always goes out of his way to be helpful and welcoming.
May I say on behalf of Steph and myself, that your Marina is a great place to stay.
The pushbikes, courtesy cars, fine dining, Palatial bathrooms, not to mention all the other amenities make for a fun time to be had.
Then throw in very obliging and friendly staff and you have the perfect get away.
Our hearts have been touched with such a lovely place.
Our stay here will not be forgotten and future visits are high on the priority list.
Thank you so much for your hospitality.
Looking forward to seeing you again soon.
Dear Darrell
Thank you for another fantastic mini-holiday we enjoyed at your world class marina.
You guys hit the ball out the park with attention to detail levels ‘off the scales’.
We had an absolute ball.
Thanks to you, Carmen and Michael.
We will most certainly be back soon!
Warm Regards
Dave
On behalf of the Soldiers Point Rural Fire Brigade, I would like to thank you for your kind donation of a berth for our Fire Boat.
As a relatively new addition to our brigade, the boat represents a significant investment by Lower Hunter RFS and as such we take our marine responsibilities seriously. Of course, a boat is only as good as its access to the Port Stephens waterways and by allowing us to berth the fire boat at your marina, we are in a fine position to be deployed at short notice.
Once again, I thank you for your generous contribution to the Rural Fire Service and in particular, to our brigade.
Carmen, you and the staff were delightful hosts and we look forward to visiting again in the future. Your amazing facilities and hospitality were stand out in our cruising experience. Thanks again and all the best,
Hi Carmen,
Just a note to say thank you for the great job you did with last nights BBQ. Heather and I really enjoyed the evening. Your BBQing skills excelled.
Sailtime – the best way to have a boat
I first came across the concept of Sailtime when I had the option of buying a sizeable powered boat second hand at about 60% of its value and did some research on the annual costs of having such a boat.
Darrell at Soldiers Point Marina was wonderfully helpful in providing the information I needed and when he sensed my concern over the costs of holding a boat, he asked whether I had my heart set on a powered boat or whether I would be interested in a sailboat and explained to me the concept of Sailtime.
Very soon afterwards, my friends and I were on a “test sail” with Darrell at the wheel. The size of the boat, its creature comforts and beautiful finish were very impressive and soon my friends were urging me to take a more detailed investigation of the arrangement as they could see how much I enjoyed the experience.
I chose the more expensive option when joining the club because I felt it gave me more options to suit my lifestyle, however, if I lived close to or in Port Stephens, then this option would be without a doubt the best option because of its flexibility providing more options to use the boat.
After joining the club, I was given excellent training on how to take the boat out and bring it back without damaging it, as well as anchoring and navigating around the bay so that I could feel confident. This was so successful, I was able to be confident sufficiently to take the boat out myself with some friends the next day.
It is now over a year since I have been a member of club Sailtime and I look forward to each time I have the opportunity to go for a sail around the beautiful Port Stephens and improve my sailing ability and for the feel of the wind through the sails. My favourite anchorage is at Shoal Bay for lunch and a swim as well as cruising along being in the situation where I used to see others with envy.
The Port Stephens staff have been wonderfully helpful at all times and willing to help with the boat every time they are available. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for them.
