SailTime is a great option for people who have been thinking about buying a boat, either power or sail, but want to get a taste of what it’s all about, without all the financial commitment. Here at Soldiers Point Marina, we’ve had some members who have tried SailTime and are now boating around the world on their own vessels! Soldiers Point Marina also offers casual charters where customers can take the vessel out on their own to explore our pristine waterways, or hire a skipper to ensure you relax and savour a spectacular day on the water.
A range of monthly memberships fees, starting at $600 per month, provide you with guaranteed minimum time on the boat(s). You will pay no marina fees, no insurance, no repairs, no maintenance — just step on board and away you go.
SailTime membership is just like any other club membership, but on the water. You pay a one-time joining fee “for life” and then a monthly fee to use the equipment. All you have to do is just wipe it down when you are finished. All member have access to a dedicated private parking space and exclusive marina facilities.
The Port Stephens based yacht is a beautiful brand new 38.1’ Beneteau which is well appointed and easy to sail. An introductory sailing session and training is included to familiarise you with the vessel and the local waterways. You, your friends and family will be well equipped to happily explore this superb marine playground. In an Australian first, Soldiers Point Marina is now offering aspiring mariners the opportunity to live the life they’ve always dreamed of – at a fraction of the normal cost – onboard the luxurious Independence, a 35′ Swift Trawler. Independence joins the stunning new 38.1′ Beneteau sailing boat, Sovereign, as part of the Port Stephens SailTime fleet. It is the first time that a powerboat has joined SailTime.

Port Stephens is home to about 130 bottlenose dolphins, with many more making the trip into our pristine waters every year.
Tailor-made for the optimum chance of discovering dolphins and exploring our waterways, we’ll cruise towards Shoal Bay and then over to Jimmy’s Beach.
During summer, there’ll also be the chance to take a dip, so don’t forget to pack your swimmers and snorkel. Kayak’s and fishing gear are also available on request.

Weather it’s a “Day Break Charter” or “Afternoon Hook-up” our local fishing expert will ensure the fish are biting.
Port Stephens is one of the largest estuary systems in NSW, rich with bird and marine life, brimming with diversity. Depending on the time of year you will be catching Bream, Flathead, Whiting, Luderick, Tailor, Salmon and sometimes Tuna. Our expert skipper / guide will take care of everything, so sit back and enjoy the ride.
